Digital tools are already closely entwined with modern music creation practices as synthesisers, audio effects, and workstations. A universe of sound can be created, but navigating this space of possibilities grows increasingly challenging as the capabilities and complexity of these tools grow. I am interested in the capabilities of machine learning as a creative support in traversing these possibilities, and my PhD research focuses on resolving some of the computational problems that currently make this challenging. More broadly, my research interests include audio synthesis, symmetry, meta-learning, timbre perception, and cross-modal interactions.
